Field Notes:
Leadership Reading Groups
Reading groups make leadership development a regular practice.
I create and facilitate customized reading groups for enterprise clients to embed leadership development into their organizations.
Most leadership books get read once, quoted occasionally, and shelved. Field Notes is built to work differently. Each cohort reads and discusses a curated selection of leadership and organizational culture titles — not as a book club, but as a structured practice in applying ideas to real challenges participants are facing right now.
Drawing on the same anthropological approach behind my workshops, sessions go beyond summarizing what a book says to examining what it reveals about your own organization's culture, blind spots, and assumptions. Participants leave each session with a specific question or experiment to bring back to their team — turning reading into observation, and observation into practice.
A curated reading list based on your organization’s specific needs
Small-group discussion, designed for genuine exchange, not a lecture.
A practice, not just a discussion — each session ends with a concrete action to try before the next meeting.

Dr. Rebecca Tapia [Section Chief, Veterans Affairs]
“It is difficult to find speakers who are engaging, well-versed in the latest research, and so relevant it feels like they are talking to each audience member individually. Dr. Schwegler met those criteria and then some, gaining rave reviews and multiple requests that she be invited back. Her unique and intriguing perspectives are both approachable and actionable for women at all levels of leadership.”

Dr. Jill Fleuriet [Vice-Provost, University of Texas at San Antonio]
"Tara is my #1 go-to for women and leadership. She is an innovative and engaging presenter who knows how to connect with her audience, from college students to C-suite executives.”
